As National Day celebration approaches this weekend, the city’s calendar fills out accordingly, a free light trail through the arts district, a homegrown DJ party in Dempsey, and a Broadway musical mid-run at the Esplanade. Here are 5 things worth checking out this week.
Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis 2026
A new National Day night-time trail has landed in Singapore’s arts and heritage district, organised by HeritageSG and running alongside the Singapore Night Festival. Historic buildings and hidden corners across Bras Basah.Bugis have been transformed into experiential light and digital installation zones, with local folklore reimagined across five locations: Artspace @ Waterloo Centre, the Reflection Pool at Bras Basah MRT Station, Stamford Place, Stamford Walkway, and the National Museum of Singapore.
It’s a free, no-ticket walking trail, which makes it an easy one to fold into a dinner-and-a-walk evening in the area, especially with CHIJMES and the museum quarter within easy reach.

Majulah Mess
Local party collectives Secret Pals and 5210PM headline this year’s National Day gathering at The Pantry, COMO Dempsey, pulling in three more crews for an afternoon that stretches into night. Across the Treehouse and SuperVision stages, five collectives split the bill: housier, warmer sets from 5210PM, Secret Pals and Sivilian Affairs on one side, bass-heavy programming from Revision Music and Super Enjoy on the other. Food, drinks and activities for the younger crowd fill out the rest of the ground.

Legally Blonde: The Musical
Singapore Repertory Theatre brings the Broadway hit to the Esplanade Theatre, led by West End star Nathania Ong as Elle Woods alongside a local cast that includes Pierre Png, Siti Khalijah and Nathan Hartono. The show trades on the same charm as the film, “Omigod You Guys,” “Bend and Snap” and all, but the real pull is watching a homegrown cast take on a story that’s become something of a modern musical-theatre staple.

Orchid Extravaganza
The Flower Dome’s annual orchid showcase closes out its run this week, worth catching before it does. This edition, presented with Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy and its Singapore embassy, draws on Bali’s Mengwi Village for its visual language, woven anyaman sculptures in coconut leaf and bamboo, and architectural nods to Sumbanese longhouses and Balinese Meru towers, set among more than 7,000 orchids. Look out for the Moon orchid, one of Indonesia’s national flowers, and the Tiger orchid, the world’s largest orchid species.

Weekend Brew Club: Marsiling Edition
Invade’s roving coffee pop-up rolls into Marsiling with an SG61-themed stop, swapping its usual heartland format for something more National Day-flavoured. Ticket holders get the run of an unlimited brew buffet of local coffees and teas, served in a keepsake mug, alongside a touch-based mahjong tile challenge, an SG61 postcard-stamping station, and open mahjong tables for anyone who’d rather sit the games out. DJs spin 2000s and retro sets through the day, and there’s a complimentary local snack for ticket holders while stocks last.
Walk-ins are welcome for the free games and workshops, but the coffee buffet and other ticketed perks are reserved for those who’ve booked ahead.
