There’s never really a shortage of new cafes opening in Singapore, but a few recent additions have caught our attention.
From an eight-seat tea bar hidden inside a 140-year-old heritage mansion to a Tokyo bakery making its first international move, these are five new cafes we think are worth having on your radar this August.
Jing Studio

Hidden inside the newly restored House of Tan Yeok Nee, Jing Studio isn’t quite your typical cafe. The intimate tea bar has just eight seats, with a setting that feels deliberately removed from the usual coffee-and-brunch crowd.
Traditional Chinese tea forms the foundation of the menu, but things aren’t kept entirely traditional. Alongside single-origin teas are more contemporary creations such as the Coco Pulut Pu-erh, which brings coconut and glutinous rice notes into the mix.
The surroundings are just as much a reason to visit. Jing Studio sits within the 140-year-old Teochew mansion along Penang Road, making this one for those who like their afternoon tea with a little more history attached.

2. RITUEL

Tokyo bakery RITUEL has landed in Singapore, and this isn’t just another overseas brand opening an outpost on Orchard Road. The Ngee Ann City store marks its first international location outside Japan.
French-style viennoiserie is the main draw. Its signature 36-layer croissant has even been adapted for Singapore’s humidity, alongside the brand’s Escargot pastries and Singapore-exclusive creations.
There’s also more to RITUEL than its pastry counter. Inspired by the French Salon de Thé, the space moves from pastries and coffee to afternoon tea and proper sit-down meals, making it somewhere you could easily stay beyond a quick croissant run.
Address: 391 Orchard Road, Ngee Ann City, #03-10A & #03-11D, Singapore 238872
Opening hours: Daily, 10am–9.30pm

3. Loulouca

If you’re serious about desserts, Loulouca should probably be high on the list.
The Ann Siang Hill dessert atelier is the first solo venture from Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2023 Louisa Lim, who previously led the pastry programme at Odette.
By day, things are relatively casual with cakes, house-made ice cream, coffee and tea. From 7pm, Loulouca shifts gears as plated desserts take centre stage.
Expect Lim’s French pastry background to come through, but not without Asian flavours and touches of Singaporean nostalgia. It’s essentially two dessert experiences occupying the same intimate space — and a good excuse to visit once in the afternoon and again after dark.
Address: 6 Ann Siang Hill, Singapore 069787
Opening hours: Wednesday–Sunday, 11am–11pm

4. Oaks Coffee Roasters

The new Bukit Timah spot comes from the team behind Oaks Coffee Co. and Kinsmen Coffee and is led by Jervis Tan, the 2025 Singapore National Barista Champion and five-time National Latte Art Champion. It takes over the former Flip Coffee Roasters space along Bukit Timah Road.
Unlike its sister cafe Oaks Coffee Co., where specialty coffee sits alongside a more extensive all-day dining menu, Oaks Coffee Roasters puts the focus more firmly on the drinks. Coffee is roasted in-house, with espresso-based drinks and filter brews joined by matcha on the menu. There are also freshly baked pastries and toasties available on the menu.
Address: 619H Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 269728
Opening hours: Daily, 7.30am–5.30pm

5. Visitors

You could easily imagine Visitors somewhere in Seoul’s Seongsu neighbourhood.
The Korean-inspired cafe at Tanjong Pagar Plaza keeps things minimal with warm wood, industrial details and those glowing pendant lamps that immediately give the space its character.
The menu moves between brunch, pastries and coffee, but some of its more playful drinks caught our attention. There’s an Ube Latte made with purple yam and milk, alongside a Matcha Cloud that tops coconut water with creamy matcha foam.
Visitors also stays open into the evening, with wine available if coffee isn’t what you’re after by then. It’s the sort of cafe that works just as easily for a morning stop as it does for winding down later in the day.
Address: 7 Tanjong Pagar Plaza, #01-106, Singapore 081007
Opening hours: Daily, 8am–10pm
